Job Summary

The Industrial Power System Division (IPSD) has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist in the IRA Department. The purpose of this position is to improve product quality, velocity, and cost by providing support to different departments in the form of inventory counts, inventory reconciliation, root cause analysis, data analysis and continuous improvement activities. Logistics Specialists report to Section Managers and will be assigned to departments within the business to meet customer and company demands in Seguin, Texas.

What You Will Do

• Execute special duties and projects as directed by Section Manager and Team Lead
• Perform reconciliation of parts according to the IRA processes and procedures
• Work closely with management and Team Leads and provide support to other departments as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Support Caterpillar Production System Continuous Improvement activities
• Escalate issues and the necessary resources to root cause and develop counter measures
• Able to Learn Caterpillar manufacturing systems (e.g., Plex and MAMM) for inventory count reconciliation
• Able to work in Excel spreadsheet to input data and populate reports as needed
• Complete root cause analysis of defects discovered in the cycle count, audit and reconcile processes

What You Will Have

• Able to work independently and with a team
• Basic knowledge of standard assembly tools and applications
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to read and follow Standard Work Instructions
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Intermediate proficiency with computers

What Would Make You a Top Candidate

• Experience working in a supply chain and logistics environment
• Intermediate proficiency with Excel
• Shift and/or value stream flexibility

Physical Requirements  (with Or Without Reasonable Accommodation)

• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods

Additional Requirements

• $18 hourly starting payrate
• Caterpillar employees must meet time-in-role requirements at time of application and meet Caterpillar disciplinary guidelines for promotion

Shift

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Overtime on Friday & Saturday as required.
