As the Logistics Manager for the Product Support & Logistics Division’s (PSLD) Seguin, TX operation, you will manage the South West logistics center (SWLC) and Outbound Engine Shipments for IPSD. In this roll you are to ensure a high degree of client satisfaction and timely processing and distribution of finished prime product engines and MPN (Manufacturing Parts Node) hardware for Caterpillar. Direct reports include Operations Support Staff at the at Caterpillar’s Product Support & Logistics Division’s offices in 2 buildings located on the Seguin Campus. Furthermore, the LNM is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, of a safe logistics operational for the team members. This position is responsible for meeting client needs, managing client relationships and achieving financial objectives for the various client accounts while providing leadership focused on a safe and positive work culture.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with HR manager, when appropriate, to recruit, select, develop and train staff. Preparing SMART goal objectives. Partnering with HR manager to advance positive management initiatives. Promoting/supporting day-to-day operational and safety issues with support of management team. Working closely with management team to determine methods to monitor the facility for security, maintain the property and provide janitorial service. Purchasing and maintaining equipment and vehicles and purchases office and storeroom supplies.
  • Developing and implementing operations changes to reduce costs and/or improve efficiency. Providing direction and guidance for continuous quality improvements, develops and implements operation changes to reduce costs and/or improve efficiency utilizing lean 6 Sigma methodology and resources.
  • Developing and managing within the annual Business Plan to meet client needs and satisfaction, ensuring contractual performance standards are met and financial targets including Sales, Capital spend and efficiency targets are achieved. Building a relationship with the client(s) and the community. Becoming a strategic business partner and growing/developing his/her facility in line with Logistics Division strategies/vision.
  • Managing operations to ensure client service levels and financial targets (costs, budgets, variable margin and before-tax ) are achieved. Managing distribution operation processes which include but are not limited to receiving, storage, kitting, order filling, packing, shipping, quality control, inspection, scheduling carriers, returns and related functions to provide shipping and operational accuracy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and 5+ years of experience within manufacturing or logistics
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience within manufacturing or logistics


Top Candidates will also have:

  • Spanish proficiency
  • Familiarity with international product shipments including customs, compliance and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering specialty or business administration

Additional Information:

This position is located in the Seguin, TX facility and may provide domestic relocation.

The hours of this position are typically 1st shift, however evening and/or weekend overtime may be required as needed
