Logistics Coordinator Jobs

When you join our team as a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of truck logistics for shipments from Interfor’s US Southeast operations.
What You’ll Do

• Support the Manager, US Southeast Logistics in finding trucking vendors to new destinations.
• Accounts Payable processing and troubleshooting of freight payables.
• Manage Freight in CarrierPoint (TMS) to help manage on time shipments.
• Responsible for daily dispatch of ready shipments to network of approved trucking vendors.
• Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and establish policies and practices to effectively meet those needs through practicable and feasible solutions.
• Work closely with Shipping Supervisors to ensure adequate transportation capacity has been secured to meet forward order fulfillment and delivery requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Implement quality delivery initiatives and processes that support Interfor’s mission and core values.
• Manage the balance between freight expense and achieving commendable customer service.
• Negotiate freight rates and service conditions with trucking vendors.
• Ability to pull reports, and navigate efficiently in Carrierpoint to data mine, tender loads for freight management and carrier performances.
• Provide rate quotes, route and freight optimization for destination inquiries from the sales department.
• Work with designated carriers, mill operations and the sales department to provide value to our customers through timely delivery of managed shipments.
• Set-up and maintain freight vendors, Geo-Area Locations, and Customer Ship to Addresses.

What You Offer

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate, informative, and professional manner.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions to challenging situations.
• Experience with LumberTrack software is an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated with ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
• Rail exposure is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and deal with numerous interruptions.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Maintain open, ongoing, and effective communication with internal customers, carriers and transportation service providers.
• Post- secondary education in Transportation or logistics is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of truck logistics experience or an equivalent combination of education.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Carrierpoint TMS software is an asset.
• Flatbed truck exposure is an asset.
