Local News Podcast Producer And Host

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Freelance Podcast Producer and Host to lead the production of local media podcasts for various companies across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of podcast production, from scheduling and recording to editing and distribution. This role will play a pivotal part in aligning our clients' podcast content with their business objectives, helping them connect with their target audience effectively.

Location: Remote (North America)

Duration: 6-12 month agreements, ongoing basis

Responsibilities:

Podcast Production:

• Plan and organize podcast recording sessions, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for all participants.
• Host podcast episodes, conducting engaging interviews and moderating discussions with professional journalists.
• Collaborate with local media publishers and broadcasters to align podcast topics with their digital operations and sales objectives.
• Coordinate and manage the entire podcast production process, from ideation to execution.

Audio Editing and Post-Production:

• Incorporate music, sound effects, and other elements to enhance the overall podcast production value.
• Edit raw audio files to produce high-quality, polished podcast episodes.
• Enhance audio clarity, remove background noise, and ensure a consistent audio experience across episodes.

Distribution and Promotion:

• Develop promotional strategies to increase listenership and engagement for each podcast series.
• Manage the distribution of podcast episodes across various platforms, ensuring timely and consistent releases.
• Optimize podcast metadata and descriptions to improve search visibility and attract a broader audience.

Monitoring and Analytics:

• Track podcast performance metrics, including downloads, listener demographics, and engagement rates.
• Analyze data to identify trends, audience preferences, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of podcasting trends, best practices, and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal communication and interviewing skills, with the ability to engage guests and audiences effectively.
• Proficiency in audio editing software and equipment
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
• Proven experience in podcast production, news radio, and/or audio production.
• A passion for storytelling and a commitment to producing high-quality content.
• Knowledge of podcast distribution platforms and familiarity with podcast analytics tools.
