Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (Contract 5 -10 Hours Per Month)

The Opportunity

With a mission to provide St. Tammany Parish seniors with services designed to ensure that proper dietary/nutrition programs are available throughout our Activity Centers, the next contract Dietitian Nutritionist, will help the agency fulfil this mission. In this role, the selected candidate will be required to make bi-annual visits to 8 activity centers throughout St. Tammany Parish for inspection and client interaction , as well as attend quarterly meetings with food vendor(s). Additionally, the selected candidate will be required to provide oversight of food menus and provide nutrition education material. Required work hours are approximately 5-10 hours per month.

The Organization

Centered in Covington, LA., The Council on Aging, is the lead agency providing outreach and community involvement to the senior population over age 60 in St. Tammany Parish. Boasting 8 activity centers throughout the parish, it's activity centers, provide voluntary exercise programs, fun activities, meal provisions and our transportation services offer a compassionate hand to ensure senior citizens have access to much needed services.

Qualifications

• Flexible day time hours availability.
• An understanding of current dietary and nutrition issues surrounding our aging population is an asset, and a commitment to the implementation for delivery of these services is essential.
• A valid Dietitian Nutritionist license is required.

Compensation

This is an annual contract in the amount of $14, 200.
