Part-Time Closing Assistant Teacher (+8 Hours/Week)

HIRING FOR SUMMER POSITIONS!!! We specifically need assistants who have availability between 3:00 pm - 5:40 pm from Monday to Friday. If your hours of availability cover all of these requested times, please apply today! Please note that this is open for 3 positions! (This is for the closing shift but has the opportunity to cover additional hours if you have more time in your availability.) The position can be just for summer or carry over into the fall if you would like to continue working during the school year.
An Assistant Teacher (also known as an Aide) supports the Lead Teachers and the Child Care Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.
We offer training as well! All annual training costs are paid by Pullman Christian Childcare Center.
Duties

• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.

Requirements

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
• Certificate of Childcare Basics STARS training (we assist in getting this training done).
• Agree and sign with lifestyle and statement of faith letters given at application.
• Must pass a health screening, including a TB test and proof of MMR.
• Must clear full background check.
• Ability to work well with others.
