Legal Intern- Remote Jobs

Because this role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work, this position can be conducted 100% remotely.
BAE Systems in Nashua, NH is accepting applications for a paid Spring semester patent internship. Applicants must be patent bar eligible and U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. Applicants who have completed Patent Law, Patent Prosecution I and II and who have undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science/engineering and aerospace or aeronautical engineering are preferred but all patent bar eligible students are welcome to apply.
Internship in the Intellectual Property department under direction of legal counsel supervision. Legal Intern will analyze, write memos and perform research on legal topics specific to IP. Help draft provisional patents, respond to Office Actions and other IP related legal assignments.
In addition, the internship may require work relating to corporate law matters. Interns will be responsible for assignments involving all aspects of the department’s responsibilities, such as:

• Analyzing and drafting various legal documents, including review of government and commercial contracts, NDAs and licenses.
• Assisting the IP Department with patent and trademark matters.
• Responding to discovery requests and subpoenas.
• Assisting the department attorneys with general matters.
• Conducting legal research and preparing legal memos and correspondence
• Assisting the Ethics Office with general and compliance matters.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must be in actively enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of law school
• Ability to analyze, write memos and perform research on legal topics specific to IP.
• Help draft provisional patents, respond to Office Actions and other IP related legal assignments.
