Position: Leasing Agent


Reports To: Property Manager


Department/Location: On-Site


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: While maintaining the highest degree of integrity, this at-will position is responsible for being the primary contact for residents and future residents. Additionally, this position is responsible for leasing homes, renewing leases organizing resident events and ensuring effective communication and strong relationships with residents, prospects and vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following list of responsibilities is representative of tasks required by the employee, however, should not be construed as a complete list of responsibilities the job may require.


  • Qualify prospects and ensure proper data entry on applications.
  • Assist with market surveys.
  • Respond to all phone and email traffic.
  • Prepare move-in gifts.
  • Collect deposit, application, and rental income.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of phone systems utilized in office.
  • Assist with in-house and outreach marketing efforts
  • Greet and tour prospects and guests.
  • Lead office, model and vacant unit opening and closing procedures.
  • Prepare lease documents for signature.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training new leasing associates.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and updating of leasing files and ledgers.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Willing to be a team-player with aptitude to build team morale.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of fair housing and Equal Employment laws.
  • Invite and be open to feedback from employees, residents, and management to improve services/performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills; both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Maintain a high-level of professionalism and ability to keep confidential information.
  • Ability to exercise quick and accurate judgment when problem-solving and resolving conflicts.
  • Possess a working knowledge of property management software and computer skills such as AppFolio, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.


Education/Experience: Requires High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of property maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
