We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a rapidly evolving demographic and socio-economic context, making it an incredibly interesting environment for individuals aspiring to pursue careers in Clinical Psychology, Education, or Child Development.

  • End Date: 21st July 2023, with potential for continuation from September 2023
  • Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
  • Start Date: 5th June 2023
  • Location: Redbridge
  • Contract Type: Contract/Full-time
  • Salary Scale: £85-£90 per day
In this role, you will receive comprehensive education and training, including Team Teach, providing you with a solid foundation in Mental Health and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This experience will be invaluable for those with aspirations in Criminal and Youth Justice, as well as Social Justice.

If you are genuinely passionate about Probation or Parole, advocacy within the Criminal Justice System, or social care, this SEN Learning Support Assistant position will serve as an excellent starting point to pursue those aspirations. The role requires a sincere dedication to advocating for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and an understanding of their individual successes and challenges from a clinical and progressive perspective.

The school values Psychology Graduates with genuine career goals and objectives, and they are committed to investing in their development. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with secondary-aged children (11-18) in the school's specialized SEMH hub, where students with low stress tolerance levels receive support.

By taking on this role, you will be starting your journey towards advocacy and social care. The school actively supports a SEN-focused Hub, offering a unique approach and additional challenges for individuals seeking professional growth.

Your primary objective will be to improve students' emotional and academic well-being, ensuring they feel safe and secure in their educational environment. Many students referred to this provision have various additional and complex needs, including low stress tolerance, social anxiety, ADHD, ADD, and ODD.

Please note that not all students with SEMH needs may have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), and some may have undiagnosed SEN requirements. This highlights the importance of providing optimal support and considering alternative education settings that cater specifically to their needs.

If you are ready to make a positive impact on students' lives, ensuring their safety and demonstrating the value of education,we encourage you to apply by submitting your up-to-date CV. Our dedicated consultants will contact you within 24 hours.

Please note that applicants must have a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and must successfully pass background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
