Job Summary


Do you want to join Fortune 100 company as a business leader that will be involved in lean manufacturing development, digital manufacturing, automation, and strategic planning across facilities in Building Construction Products (BCP) division?


You will lead the Lean Department that supports lean manufacturing deployment, facility strategic planning, automation and quality management. Your team is instrumental in developing digital manufacturing strategy as well as integrated and automated reporting across our facilities. The team leads revolutionary change across the Division by helping others diagnose complex business problems and providing solutions to accelerate business improvements through the implementation of Lean Principles and automation.


As a Lean Director you will ensure integration of Lean deployments with other business activities, improvement projects, and enterprise business strategies and lead or support enterprise, segment or division level projects.


Your Team


You will directly manage team of lean, quality and automation professionals that work across our facilities to drive standardization and improvement in our processes as well as support facility managers, product managers and Senior VP for the BCP division.


What You Will Do


Lean Manufacturing Development


  • Assist facilities with Value Stream Transformations (VST).
  • Manage the Lean Assessment scoring and planning by facility, the Lean Champions Council and the Operations Manager’s Council.
  • Help manage, train and embed Lean activities within BCP Facilities, partnering with the enterprise Lean COE as needed.


Facility Strategic Planning


  • Drive business and operational process standardization across Facilities.
  • Manage and Prioritize the Operational Excellence Forum Capital Planning.
  • Assists with creating the 5-year vision and strategic direction of facilities, including Automation strategies.
  • Develop, Replicate, and Integrate New Automation and Technology Strategies.


Operational Excellence Teams


  • Share and replicate best practices and drive standard processes across common products.
  • Support and reviews OpEx capital projects and helps manage the operations forecasting tool capturing the cost and benefits of each project.
  • Facilitate Operational Excellence Teams across BCP facilities.
  • Educate peers as to new thoughts, strategies, technologies, and processes in alignment with the BCP Automation Strategy.


BCP Quality Management


  • Manage the BCP Quality Recipe, coordinate the CQMS/ISO certification, and support CAV audits.
  • Report monthly divisional quality results.


BCP Digital Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 Development


  • Assist facilities with ERP and MES systems and technology integration in alignment with the digital manufacturing strategy.
  • Contribute and actively engage with the CI Digital Manufacturing Council as a BCP representative.
  • Develop and execute BCP digital manufacturing strategy.


Integrated CI / BCP Standardized Reporting and Dashboarding


  • Support and Develop Resources within Facilities to create and maintain Reports and Dashboards using Enterprise Solutions.
  • Develop Comprehensive Reports across BCP facilities (including PQVC reports)


What You Will Have- Skills & Experiences


The Lean Director must have the ability to build and maintain credibility with senior leadership and have the communication skills to articulate clearly, providing direct feedback and clear communications to develop a shared vision of the Lean capabilities needed.


Basic Qualifications


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Order to Delivery (OTD) areas and proven leadership skills in managing or supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven agility, with the ability to quickly to embrace needed change
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business, or an equivalent level of work experience
  • 5 – 10 years of direct leadership experience
  • Measurable results implementing Lean in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to travel ~25%

  • Experience leading a global team
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business
  • Experience as a BB, MBB, CPS BB or CPS MBB

The location for this role will be in Cary, NC. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
