About the Team
Neutrino is a team of highly collaborative, engaged, and motivated technologists responsible for implementing core services that are leveraged by other teams at College Board through the lifecycle of a student assessment, from registration to score reporting. We are a team of 9, who constantly seek out, experiment with, and harness new technologies to build quality products, with a singular purpose to deliver comprehensive assessments to the millions of students we serve. With the move towards digital administration of SAT and PSAT, our team continues to have new opportunities to work on challenging initiatives that are vital to the organization in support of our mission to connect students to college success and opportunity.
About the Opportunity
As the Lead Quality Assurance Engineer on the Neutrino team, you are a leader, collaborator, and innovator with a keen focus on delivering exceptional quality code. You are a self-starter with the ability to set priorities, work independently and attain goals. You have strong expertise and knowledge of a variety of testing tools and will apply this to perform functional, regression and end-to-end testing for the clean delivery of mission critical enterprise applications. You will partner with developers to build our automated tests and offer your expertise on testing strategies, run through manual tests, and augment our CI/CD pipeline. You will leverage your strong communication and documentation skills, working closely with Neutrino team members and cross-functionally with key business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure our solutions meet our high-quality standards. You are a practical decision-maker with strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills. Your ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies will enable you to work effectively with development teams while digging in to identify and resolve issues.
In this role, you will:
  • Continuously develop the skills required to work as part of the Agile team in a poly-skilled development environment
  • Coordinate with other teams to for E2E testing to ensure data quality and standardization while identifying risks and issues due to integration of data across work streams
  • Participate in design and code review and collaborate with cross-functional teams and to ensure that our solutions meet the needs of our consumers
  • Help to manage the day-to-day operations, including technical communications, triage, incident support, and operational delivery
  • Work with development team to build automated regression test scripts
  • Coach and mentor senior and junior engineers
  • Support ad hoc operational requests
  • Manage regression testing for releases
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of production issues
  • Create test cases and test scripts while leading manual testing efforts of microservices applications
  • Actively participate in external staffing needs including screening and evaluating candidates and providing feedback on decisions
About You
You have:
  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in software development environments with a strong focus on quality assurance and manual testing
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum and iterative development environment
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • 5+ years’ experience with AWS infrastructure and technologies (Node.js, Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Postgres, S3, Athena)
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Experience working with development teams to drive automation strategies
  • Strong knowledge of test strategies within development environments and workflows
  • DevOps experience in an enterprise environment

The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications.
