Description:

Summary/Objective

The Lead Glazier effectively manages crews and the installation of storefront, interior glass, curtain wall, and shower doors systems.

Essential Functions

  • Keeps work area clean and free of debris
  • Returns unused materials to warehouse in new condition
  • Lead, manage, and hold Glazier Crews accountable
  • Communicates daily with Project Managers, Fabricators, and Glazier Crews
  • Assist Scheduling and Project Management team in the coordination of required field work based on schedules, onsite conditions, and other factors
  • Manages completion of punchlist items to ensure customer satisfaction and contract compliance
  • Participates in jobsite and safety meetings
  • Coordinate material delivery as needed, ensuring material integrity
  • Utilizes internal software for jobsite communications and accurate time keeping
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for site logistics, onsite meetings, schedule flow, and punch list management
  • Installs commercial glass while maintaining set schedules to meet deadlines; follows blueprints and drawings, uses proper tools and equipment for an effective installation

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises Glaziers, Laborers, and Commercial Glass Installers

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); toxic or caustic chemicals (Refer to MSDS sheets for detail); outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock; falls from lethal elevations; slips, trips and spills; falling objects; working at high elevations; pinch-point and struck-by injuries from materials, vehicles and heavy equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and infrequently lift or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening, Friday and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Travel throughout the service region is expected with occasional overnight travel to jobsites.

Hiring Range: $26.00 - $34.00/hour. ABS full-time employees are eligible to participate in our group insurance plans including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, employer-paid and voluntary group life insurance, and 401(k) on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. All employees participate in our bonus plan.

Required Education and Experience

  • Two years installing commercial glass
  • Two years in a field lead position
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High school education or equivalent or

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3+ years in lead or field management role
  • 2 years experience installing storefront, curtain wall systems, and shower doors
