Flint Hills Resources Pipeline and Terminals is looking for a Laborer/Welder Helper to join our Operations Group in Texas. This position will be responsible for on-site support at refined fuels, crude and chemical facilities/terminals throughout Texas. In this role you will ensure jobsite safety, environmental stewardship, coordination with peers, and mechanical integrity of installed equipment and exposed pipelines. This position works directly on site with the company's Field Execution Crew to perform anomaly digs, evaluations and repair by mechanical and coating means.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- At times this position will be expected to place One Calls for future digs.
- Computer knowledge (specifically the ability to use Microsoft Office 365 Tools)
- Learn/Perform pipeline defect evaluations.
- Perform/Assist with spotting for heavy equipment while performing excavations, performing manual digging methods to ensure pipeline integrity is maintained, removal of existing coating, sandblasting of pipeline, assisting/performing evaluations and follow up with integrity group, assist/perform mechanical or coating repairs as required and assist in the backfilling/land restoration.
- Safely travel to job-locations throughout the state of Texas, pulling trailers and equipment at time if needed.
- Learn the safe work permitting process and upon certification assist in writing permits and identifying hazards located on jobsites.
- Execute integrity/anomaly digs developed by the FHR Integrity Group. Ensuring all work is performed in a safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-efficient method.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
- Able to work indoors, outdoors, confined spaces and heights
- Ability to tolerate scents common to fuels and crude loading and maintenance related activities such as welding and painting.
- Able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, as required
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Willing and able to meet physical requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in pipeline excavations and maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel at least 80% of the time including nights, weekends, and holidays.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience and knowledge of excavation standards and requirements
- Previous experience performing evaluations on pipeline anomaly digs.
- Certified competent person for soil classification
- Experience with inspecting and applying industrial coatings.
- Previous Level II NDE certifications (MT)
- API 1169
- Level I/II NACE Coating Certification
