Lab Technician - 1St Shift

Job Summary

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing certain tasks, tests, inspections and qualifications to

ensure specific equipment is in certification or calibration and certain processes are acceptable to company process specifications, Industry standards and customer requirements.

Essential Functions

 Maintains all quality control records and other required documentation in order to comply with

Company, NADCAP And Customer Requirements

 Working knowledge of AS2750 Pyrometry and associated NADCAP requirements

 Working knowledge of heat treating process of metals and their alloys

 Performs hardness and electrical conductivity testing

 Assemble test setups, both mechanical and electronic and independently perform qualification tests and acceptance tests for heat treat equipment

 Performs pyrometry verification tests as scheduled by customer requirements such as SAT and TUS calibrations and audits.

 Performs metallographic analysis and inspections on finished products, in process batches and raw materials to ensure conformance with quality standards using specialized laboratory equipment

 Maintains accurate record keeping of documents, test results and other required information

 Maintain furnace chart and lab test sample storage system. Retains/retrieves and stores lab samples of all completed batches and heat treat furnace charts.

 Schedule, maintain lab test equipment to ensure accurate and reproducible test results

 Communicate and formalize test results to clients, colleagues, and manager

 Carries out day-to-day work following the departments continuous improvement plan
