Job Description

Provides supervision of teaching assistants, and supplies the undergraduate laboratories with required equipment and materials.

  • Supervisors Teaching Assistants while they teach in the laboratory.
  • Assures safe working conditions for all laboratory staff.
  • Trains staff and undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Supervises the use of laboratory equipment and supplies; repairs equipment or calls appropriate repair personnel.
  • Determines the amount of supplies and chemicals needed, and places necessary orders.
  • Furnishes chemicals, equipment handouts, etc., as required each week.
  • Disposes of all waste in the proper manner.
  • Repairs equipment and keeps laboratories clean and in good working conditions.
  • Reviews syllabus and laboratory schedule.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Bachelors and 1 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Requires a minimum of one (1) years of directly job-related experience.


Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.
