Job Summary


Reporting into the Chief Creative & Content Officer, the Senior Director of Marketing will lead our growing in-house creative studio, owning the marketing strategy, innovation, execution, and growth of our performance marketing programs, inclusive of all existing channels and strategic expansion into new channels spanning from paid media to direct mail to experiential and beyond.


Essential Functions
  • Strong track record of solving complex problems, strategic thinking and delivering significant impact as a leader.
  • Manage the LA Galaxy marketing calendars for all media platforms to include organizing content for:
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Required to work all home and away games.
  • Foster a culture of ROI, data-driven decision-making, and organizational excellence by staying current on new and emerging direct response channels. Drive customer acquisition directly across e-commerce, and indirectly via retail, and inside sales. Establish and manage day in and day out testing-and-learning plans to continuously optimize media investments.
  • Guide, mentor and lead a fully in-house marketing team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to lead in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbal and written.
  • Reliable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with peers in a team-oriented environment.

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year): Marketing, Business, Communication, or a related area
  • Work closely with the broadcast content and services team and Chief Creative & Content Officer to develop and implement a video sharing strategy and plan to maximize content that can be shared and utilized on broadcast and digital platforms.

  • 6-8 years of Related experience in marketing and content development required; experience working with a brand, professional sports team, or entertainment brand. Proven experience setting a bold vision, creating a comprehensive marketing strategy, executing with excellence, and using complex data to achieve success and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Working with Chief Creative & Content Officer to lead ideation, oversee and direct marketing strategy and performance, programs and analysis of content and scheduling across all LAG platforms. Lead performance marketing efforts across digital channels such as paid social, paid search, native, affiliate, and more.
  • Excellent organizational, marketing, and project management skills, and the ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Experience in the sports and/or venue management industry is preferred
  • Work closely with communications team to amplify team and Club messaging through content, integrate the MLS marketing and social media programs and initiatives into Club content, and work closely with the matchday presentation department to provide marketing for in-stadium usage.
  • Clear understanding of the traditional and digital marketing tactics, creator communities and consumer dynamics.
