Job Description

Overview

SOSi is seeking a Kurdish Linguist to support a social media program in Tampa, FL. The candidate will conduct social media research leveraging his/her cultural, linguistic, and experience to collect information outside the United States in a cyber environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, working both independently and as an important member of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a natively fluent Kurdish specialist supporting a social media program in Tampa, FL.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of online social media and different technologies, and documents activities, notes, informative papers, or whitepapers written in English.
  • Reads, analyzes, and drafts communications regarding regional and ideological discussions in specified foreign language media environments.
  • Demonstrates reading and writing expertise in the assigned language and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
  • Supports operations planning.
  • Develops and maintains expertise with designated regional issues and draws upon publicly available online information resources.
  • Examines current media statements or postings to support trend analysis and identifies key communicators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related business or technical discipline.
  • Must be a native Kurdish speaker.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess Kurdish language proficiency equivalent to ILR 3 in listening/speaking/reading.
  • Active in scope TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Requires 5+ years of related experience, including supervisory experience OR 9+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSINT experience.
  • Military or Department of Defense experience.

Working Conditions

  • Some evening, weekend, or shift work could be required.
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours and in on-call status for periods of time may be required.
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Some travel may be required.
