Junior Web Developer - Part-Time

Red Canyon Software is looking for a part-time, about 20 hours per week, Web Developer to contribute to the production and maintenance of a variety of websites, platforms, and products. This individual will report to the Web Design and Development Manager.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree in web development, web design, computer science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a web development role.

Job Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To

Materially contribute to web projects from start to finish, including joining conversations with clients, and contributing to working code. Assist with estimate creation and self-manage workload to deliver on-time and within budget.

A remote schedule will be considered for this position.

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Required

• Interest in working in a team and collaborating to architect enterprise-level systems
• Interest in maintaining legacy systems and reducing technical debt
• Knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, concepts and techniques in web design and development
• Experience using and maintaining content management systems
• Familiarity with web accessibility (WCAG 2.1, 508 compliance)
• Understanding of responsive design and working in a design system (USWDS)
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders
• Skills in Python (Django, Wagtail), PHP (WordPress, Drupal), JavaScript (Node, Vue/Nuxt), CSS (Tailwind), HTML5
• Experience with cross-browser/device compatibility and testing
• Update WordPress website content and add plugins
• Understanding of Search engine optimization (SEO) concepts and tools, including exposure to technical SEO
