Junior Test Engineer Jobs

Responsibilities

Peraton is actively seeking an experienced Test Engineer (Junior) to support our Defense Enterprise Sector.

Must be US Citizen, and have active/current DoD Public Trust designation or be able to obtain prior to starting.

This is a remote opportunity, but you must reside in the U.S. to be considered

The DTS team is responsible for developing and testing the application and maintaining the system hardware to ensure that it functions per DoD requirements and specifications.

This person will:

• Develop and execute test cases to test for 508 compliance
• Perform analysis, research, and troubleshooting of software defects and other issues
• Update system documentation, test plans and standard operating procedure
• Effectively communicate to other team members information regarding code defects, code releases, requirements, acceptance criteria and environments status and needs
• Participate in meetings with developers, requirements analysts, and other team members to help identify defects, troubleshoot system/software issues, and provide needed inputs to these discussions
• Plan and execute test cases for the Defense Travel System application with a significant number of external system interfaces
• Perform basic database queries to validate backend expected results
• Provide test planning and execution estimates for new development activities
• Develop test cases based on user stories, mapping software requirements and acceptance criteria across the system functionality
• Perform analysis and requirements/acceptance criteria decomposition for software enhancements
• Develop software test plans, test cases, and test reports
• Document and track defects in the program's issue management system
• Perform software and system verification and validation testing using manual test tools and test automation processes
• Participate in the elicitation and specification of program requirements
• Execute test cases and document test execution artifacts in the program's test case repository
• The assistance will include booking reservations, Passenger Name Record (PNR) research, queueing PNRs, ticketing, and voiding of tickets
• Prepare presentations and participate in test planning and execution discussions with the direct customer and other stakeholders

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years' experience analyzing data, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues
• Two (2) or more years of software testing experience with travel-related software
• Two (2) or more years' experience working with TMCs
• BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS+6
• Experience communicating across a large team with a variety of technical backgrounds
• U.S. Citizen, Ability to obtain a Common Access Card

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) or more years' experience working with MicroFocus ALM/Quality Center to maintain test cases and test execution artifacts
• Two (2) or more years' experience with Micro Focus UFT (Unified Functional Testing) for automated testing
• Two (2) or more years' experience working with Sabre and Worldspan Global Distribution Systems (GDS
• Two (2) or more years' experience working with the Apollo and/or Galileo GDSs
• Experience with JIRA
• Two (2) or more years' experience working with 508 Testing Tools including JAWS, ZoomText, or others.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
