Junior Systems Engineer Jobs

Summary
We are looking for a Junior Systems Engineer who is passionate about software integration and has experience working with Git. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, integration, and testing of software systems within our organization. You will work closely with the development team to ensure the smooth integration of new features and functionality into existing systems.

• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of new software systems.
• Document software integration processes and procedures.
• Help manage code repositories using Git.
• Conduct system testing and debugging to ensure proper operation.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate new software features and functionality into existing systems.
• Work within a Git environment to integrate work from scientists into workflows that meet government requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues related to software integration and deployment.

Required Skills (required skills that should be contract-driven, verifiable, and measurable):

• 1+ year(s) of experience working databases, software, git or related technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US Citizenship Required.
• Experience with software integration and testing.
• Familiarity with Git and experience managing code repositories.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.

Desired/Preferred Skills (not contractual obligations):

• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with data pipeline development and maintenance using tools like Apache Spark, MLflow and Kubeflow.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
