About the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT):

The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so that they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.

Salary:


This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $61,022. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.


A Day in the Life:


The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Deliver technical reports and work with agencies on findings.
  • Monitor protocols intended to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification, and/or destruction.
  • React immediately to security incidents.
  • Assist with security deployments with outside vendors.
  • Assist in defending systems against unauthorized access, modification, and/or destruction.
  • Respond to abnormalities and report violations.
  • Assist senior staff with security upgrades, tools, and countermeasures.
  • Use outputs from security tools such as anti-virus software, monitoring tools, vulnerability scanning, SIEM, IPS/IDS, etc.
  • Monitor and address security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
  • Assist with supporting network, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
  • Implement effective tools and processes to protect computers, networks, software, data, and information systems against any possible attacks.
  • Support security standards, security systems, and authentication protocols.
  • Provide routine security administration.

What You'll Need for Success:


You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Individual must have an understanding of security concepts, risk, and demonstrated communication skills.
  • Position will be required to address crisis issues beyond normal work hours as needed.
  • Must have demonstrated technical competence showing the capability of growing into a resource that can improve state defensive capabilities.
  • Must understand the concepts behind technical tools and play a role in processes assisting in response to attacks of various types.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and handle multiple assignments.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
