Job Summary:

Join this high impact team as a Network Engineer (P1) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our RMD locations. The installation, maintenance, support and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks. This role is onsite at our Tucson, AZ location. This role is not eligible for Relocation support.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • Assist with design or a portion of network that includes selection of hardware and software packages.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings,
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  • Prepare or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, or an additional 1 year of Network Administration/Engineering/STEM work experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college (i.e. AS + 2 years or in lieu of degree would typically require at least 4 Years’ experience)
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Networking products.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Experience with classified computing
  • Experience with firewall and access control list knowledge
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with telecommunication systems.
  • Willingness and availability to work during afternoon and evenings as needed.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities
  • Certifications in Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
  • Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance.
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
  • Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
