Who We Are Looking For:
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Phoenix Tailings, you will be at the forefront of transforming the mining industry through sustainable and economic practices. You will collaborate closely with the chemical engineering team, taking a leading role in the mechanical build-out and design of innovative critical metals production systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of groundbreaking solutions that redefine mining processes and create a more sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, while pushing the boundaries of innovation in sustainable mining practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall project design.
- Collaborate with the chemical engineering team to take a key role in the mechanical build-out and design of cutting-edge critical metals production systems.
- Actively participate in the scaling up of existing processes to meet ambitious production goals and support the company's rapid growth.
- Contribute to the optimization of mechanical systems to enhance production efficiency, throughput, and sustainability, driving continuous improvement.
- Take part in hands-on testing, data analysis, and propose design changes or improvements to optimize mechanical systems.
- Gain practical experience in the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, providing valuable insights for future enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- 1-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on mechanical design, system integration, and optimization.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose design changes for improved performance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
