Founded in 1991, NBW Capital is an employee-owned Registered Investment Advisor located in Boston, Massachusetts.NBW manages equity and fixed income portfolios and works closely with clients to devise an appropriate asset allocation to fit their financial goals.Our equity strategies are actively managed with a goal of beating their respective benchmarks.We are seeking to hire an analyst to assist four portfolio managers in conducting fundamental and quantitative research, as well as developing financial plans for our clients.
As part of the fundamental research, the analyst will be a generalist and will cover several sectors with the goal of supporting the portfolio managers.This research will entail attending company meetings, analyzing financial statements and determining the relative attractiveness of a stock relative to its peers and the market.The analyst will also be expected to generate and analyze a series of weekly quantitative reports that are distributed to the portfolio managers.
For the financial planning side of the role, the analyst will assist in generating financial plans for our clients.Using software from RightCapital, the analyst will gather and enter data collected from our clients and/or prospects.The analyst would then be expected to generate a series of financial planning reports to present to clients and prospects at meetings lead by portfolio managers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Become an expert on using the RightCapital financial planning software.Generate reports and present a financial plan to clients.
- Conduct fundamental research as directed by the portfolio managers on individual stocks or industries.
- With a strong knowledge of Bloomberg, generate and improve a series of quantitative screens and risk reports.
- Create and maintain charts and data used in our marketing materials.
Required Qualifications
- CFP certification, or a willingness to work towards obtaining a CFP.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, business, accounting or economics.
- A high level of proficiency with Excel.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg and how best to automate reports.
- An understanding of financial statement analysis and equity market dynamics.
- Quantitative analytical skills to be applied to report generation.
