The 5th Judicial District’s Polk County Clerk of Court has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist 2 in the Payment Division.


The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The pay range is $36,441.60 to $53,331.20


Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P


To Be Successful In This Position You Will Need To Have The Following


Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.


  • Strong computer applications and skills including video conferencing (GTM/Zoom) including 10 key experience.

Minimum Qualification Requirements


Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.


Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
