Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Contract Length: 12-months

Location: On-site ion Washington, DC

Pay: 30 - 36 an hour

IT Support Specialist is essentially an IT Business Partner who is the first point of contact for end-users. As an IT Business Partner, your focus is not just to resolve incidents, but to find the underlying problem and develop long term solutions.

Reporting to Regional Service Desk Lead, typical responsibilities will include:

• Systematic problem solving approach with the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make progress in areas where a high ambiguity and uncertainty exist
• Strong working knowledge of common applications: email (Gmail), GSuite desktop publishing (Microsoft Office), web browsers (Safari, Chrome...Etc.)
• Create IT instructions
• Perform basic troubleshooting tasks and operating system support on Microsoft Windows OS, Mac OS X and network services
• Additional responsibilities include: Guide user to use self-service IT resources, such as ticketing system and knowledge base
• Provide event support, setup AV and live stream equipment - needs to be for big conference rooms or event - reasoning for this is that they do not have the typical small conference rooms that are in offices
• Provide top-notch IT support to our local offices as well as our world-wide remote office workers
• Build, set-up, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot technology problems related to laptops, desktops, servers and systems that affect end-user productivity
• Interface daily with other technical staff, and work on assignments and delivering services to end-users
• Excellent customer service, organizational, prioritization, multitasking and communication
• Good understanding in at least two of the following skill-sets required within IT Operations: Windows, Mac, Unix/Linux, Networking, Scripting/Automation, Application troubleshooting and backup
• Mobile device setup, installation and/or post installation support
• Required Skills:College Degree in Computer Science, Systems Science, and Computer Engineering or 2+ years of relevant discipline
• This includes desktops, laptops, servers and systems.
• On-call rotation including weekends - not usually but depends on what work they are doing
• Monitor our corporate and development infrastructure and assist in its growth
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, willingness to learn new procedures and tasks
• Support both Windows and Mac systems in the corporate environment

Desired Additional Skills:

• These are Desired since they like to ensure the candidate is going to grow within the company, wants them to be passionate about their work Hardware/software/network training and/or certification in systems (such as CCNA, MCSA, RHCSA, etc.)
• Experience setting-up and deploying Audio/Visual equipment
• Basic scripting capability (Shell, python, Perl PHP, C+++, Java)
