Job Description

IT Support Engineer

Location: Spring Mills, PA(Onsite role)

Duration: 12+ Months

Experience: 3+

REQUIREMENT:

•Provide daily help desk support and device operation assistance to all staff in assigned buildings in a timely fashion.

•Creation, deletion, and maintenance of user accounts; update email addresses in a timely fashion.

•Provide coaching to enhance employee use of information technology.

•Prepare and configure PCs and related peripherals as needed.

•Assist in maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all software, licensing requirements and expiration dates; assist in maintaining an inventory database of audio visual and computer equipment.

•Monitor and report abuse of network, illegal files stored on server, abuse of internet privileges, unacceptable use of network account, unauthorized software (including video games); document and report all problems to the appropriate building principal.

•Schedule and aid in the setup of equipment/technology, including videotaping concerts and major events; provide staff for editing video into appropriate format; complete file format transfers as requested.

•Maintain security of all technology assigned to the buildings.

•Update District’s solutions documentation and create documentation as needed. It is important to note that the solutions and written documentation is owned by Penns Valley Area School District and should remain inside the PVASD network.

•Provide setup services of District’s audio/visual equipment to include video projectors, sound boards, lighting system as well as video-taping, and provide service for any major events or concerts. After hours work for these events would be required by the successful vendor.

•Manage Penns Valley Area School District’s 1-1 computing environment using Google Admin & JAMF management suite. The successful vendor should have previous experience managing and supporting 1-1 computing environments. It is important to note that the technician assigned to PV High School currently handles 15-20 requests/day with student 1-1 computers.

•Utilize the district’s Help Desk system (Zendesk) to accurately create and document tickets and note any issues and work performed.

•Troubleshoot and manage ShoreTel VOIP system.

•Diagnose and repair Faculty / Staff machines and Student 1-1 Chromebook devices. This requires the support of approximately 1,400 students and 250 staff. Support is via email, phone, tickets, and walk in requests. It is required that the Help Desk staff be on site and not in a call center.

•Help Desk staff must be willing and able to travel among the different schools within the Penns Valley Area School District to perform the work required under the contract.

•Provide backup to the District’s Director of Technology when they are unavailable.

•Technicians need to be able to understand and troubleshoot issues related to network, server, phones, telecommunications lines, storage, as well as escalated help desk issues.

•Be able to provide support for the District's laminator machines. Selected vendor must be able to replace laminator rolls and troubleshoot the unit as issues arise.

• Skyward, or a similar Student Information System (SIS)
