THE ROLE

The successful candidate will join the Workforce Enablement team, performing development and administrative duties in support of our IT service management for customers across multiple state agencies. The incumbent will be involved in creating, enhancing, and administering the BMC cloud solution, while providing excellent customer service.

Duties include developing, troubleshooting and problem resolution, production support, requirements gathering and learning new skills within the BMC Helix/Remedy environment.

We are looking for motivated, self-initiating individuals with strong collaboration and communication skills. The ideal candidate will align with our team values and willingness to learn and grow.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency Information Technology (IT) environment, this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of information technology tasks and project coordination work involving infrastructure systems support, security and application development in an IT environment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Manage projects related to ITSM enhancements and upgrades
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for BMC Remedy and other ITSM tools providing guidance
  • Document and develop training materials as needed
  • Contribute to the enhancement, customization, and configuration of BMC-Helix based on both agency and IT requirements
  • Develop and maintain foundation data
  • Be responsible for configuration and development of BMC Remedy ITSM suite, Service Request, Reporting and Analytics
  • Support Remedy Incident Management, SmartIT, DWP (Digital Workplace), Knowledge Management, Service Level Management, Foundation Data structures, Data Import Tool, Change Management, and Reporting business solutions
  • Support Remedy integrations with LDAP, SSO, and other external interfaces
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Gather and prioritize client requirements and develop and configure the platform to meet these requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Six (6) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development or another IT related support area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of the General Experience must have been performing professional information technology work in such areas as: installation and support of microcomputer hardware, software and operating systems; analysis, design and development of information systems; network hardware and software installation and support; network hardware and/or software problem diagnosis and resolution; performing any closely related professional IT function. NOTE: For state employees this is interpreted at the level of Information Technology Analyst 1.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

1. College training in management information systems, computer science or information technology related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.

2. A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science or electrical engineering may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience creating knowledgebase documentation
  • Experience with configuration management database (CMDB) administration
  • Experience with integrating systems with Remedy software
  • Experience administering Remedy software
