It Network Admin Security Specialist

Nature and Scope: The exempt position is a member of the APCI FCU’s IT team and reports to the APCI FCU’s IT Director. The main duties include enterprise Microsoft Active Directory and Windows file services backup management, global system security and policy configuration and top-level support for critical initiatives.

APCI FCU provides financial services to the Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. and Versum Materials employees and members of their immediate family and households. The APCI FCU provides a broad range of financial related products and services including mobile banking, remote deposit capture, vehicle loans, refinance mortgage loans, personal loans, MasterCard, savings, checking, share certificates and IRA’s. Loan amounts range from $500 to $1,200,000 while individual member deposits range from $5 to over $1,000,000.

While having only a single physical location in Allentown, PA, the APCI FCU’s members span over the 50 U.S. states in addition to a small international contingent. Larger member concentrations are in Pennsylvania, Texas, California, Arizona, and Louisiana. The APCI FCU reaches its members through a variety of channels including internet, mobile app, telephone, outbound calls, and direct mail.

Principal accountabilities

• Create, maintain system documentation, and serve as primary support for enterprise security technologies including installation, configuration, and appropriate solving issues.
• Monitor and remediate reported alerts from the Security Operations Center (SOC). Complete daily checklist review of security related requirements.
• Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions, documentation, or training.
• Maintain ongoing communications with the APCI FCU Director of IT, informing him/her of all relevant problems, irregularities, new developments, and other important developments within area of responsibility. Perform other duties as assigned by APCI FCU CEO or CFO.
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise level security services and third-party software utilities for all systems within operational guidelines. Assist with enterprise-level designs and solutions for Active Directory and Windows File Services via collaboration with project and support teams.
• Perform system patching and security related remediation efforts associated with known vulnerabilities and “Zero Day” exploits. Perform vulnerability scanning and assessment of APCI FCU infrastructure.
• Responsible for Endpoint Security to protect the network environment from malicious activity applying industry standards and enterprise class solutions.

Job requirements

• Ideally candidates will have 10+ years overall IT experience with 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows File Services, and endpoint solutions. A BS Degree in computer science, information technology or a computer related field is a plus.
• Expert knowledge of:

• Server virtualization technologies. Preferably VMware.
• Infrastructure and Microsoft Server theories, principles and concepts, application infrastructure and standards, networking fundamentals, Windows Server architecture and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies.
• SAN technologies.
• Endpoint Detection and Response solutions.
• Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP and PKI security in a Windows Server environment.

Solid background with:

• Solve technical issues
• Translating technical issues into understandable business language for end users
• Understanding and instilling industry standard processes

4. Teammate with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and good interpersonal skills, “can do” attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges, self-motivated, with keen attention to detail, excellent judgment skills, excellent writing, and communication skills with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers and 3rd parties.

5. This position requires that the individual be available to work nights, weekends and holidays and be “on call” for any situation where support is needed to restore electronic services for the APCI FCU members and staff. This individual will play a key role with events that invoke the use of the APCI FCU’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
