Position Summary:
Our IT Intern will be responsible for providing tier 1 technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution. This is a paid internship. Role reports on-site to the corporate office in St. Charles, MO. Pay range: $16-$18 per hour.
Responsibilities:
  • Through the phone, email, or walkups - provides technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Troubleshoot Desktop hardware, operating system and software application problems and escalate to appropriate IT staff as needed
  • Follow up with users to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  • Closely analyze tickets for missing details
  • Document standard procedures in Knowledge base
  • Train computer users and clean up computers as necessary
  • Research desktop related issues via web, product manuals and other methods
  • Monitor and solve IT service ticket requests
  • Create documentation for the team
  • Receive and log incoming calls for users as needed
  • Translate technical details to user friendly verbiage / instructions
  • Ensure all software is appropriately licensed prior to installation
  • Maintain compliance with desktop software licenses
  • Install fixes on computers as needed
  • Walk customer through problem-solving process
Qualifications:
  • Ability to maintain a set schedule and work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
  • Must be a strong communicator and posses excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated by a challenge and easily adapts to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Needs to be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Must be highly-organized and detail oriented with the ability to thrive as a member of a team.
  • Must have a desire to learn and adapt to different technologies in order to identify and resolve problems.
