Job Description
PURPOSE:
Join an innovative, agile web development team and help deliver the next generation of web-based experiences for UNFI’s Customer, Suppliers, Carriers, and Associates. The Business Systems Analyst plays an important role in gathering, documenting, and presenting requirements to ensure product deliverables meet user expectations. This individual will become a subject matter expert with our web application platform and support our product development lifecycle while building and maintaining collaborative relationships with all parties involved. The Business Systems Analyst Sr. conducts and analyzes business and information technology processes and prepares essential groundwork. Participates in the definition, testing, training, implementation and support of system requirements. Identifies customer requirements, develops test schedules, reviews testing plans, tracks and documents the development and results of these plans. Alerts project leaders to potential risks and issues of importance. Uncovers client requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling and object modeling.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Creates and maintains systems documentation.
  • Writes User Stories based on requirements gathered from the business.
  • Understands and effectively communicates core IT capabilities and methods.
  • Works with business system users to understand and document existing and future state processes.
  • Follows IT procedures and processes related to systems development lifecycle.
  • Works with UX Designers, Developers, and QA Testers to deliver solutions in line with requirements.
  • Works with Team to identify and remove impediments to the development process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems or software engineering preferred

Experience:
  • Scrum Master experience preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile environment required
  • 2 + years of experience with client/server-based systems preferred
  • Executing test plans preferred
  • Jira experience preferred
  • 6+ years related experience in information technology required
  • Experience gathering requirements and writing user stories required

Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize and prioritize overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment
  • Organization of projects and initiatives
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation techniques
  • Ability to work across teams and functional areas
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience writing User Stories
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based applications specifically: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
