Irrigation Field Service Technician

Duties

• Looks for leaks, misaligned sprinkler heads, broken lateral lines and other irrigation system issues and write up a summary report within the assigned time frames
• Install new smart irrigation system controllers, weather stations and air cards at assigned properties throughout territory as needed
• Maintain professional image in front of customers, greeting them professionally and arriving on-time based on the assigned schedule
• Perform detailed irrigation system inspections across an assigned state or multi-state region
• Ability to complete diagnostics on equipment and systems as needed to ensure proper functionality
• Other duties as may be needed from time to time (for ex. participating in sales calls, customer meetings, internal staff meetings, etc.)
• Communicate any equipment or scheduling issues back to the central office quickly so customers can be made aware in real time
• Training team members, customers, and Premier Partners on use of irrigation systems and troubleshooting

Personal Qualifications

• Able to work professionally with moderate supervision
• Desire and ability to build trust with landscape maintenance contractors and property managers on assigned properties so the company becomes a trusted irrigation partner
• Experience using computers, smart phones and/or iPad
• Good communication skills and the courage to alert supervisors to potential problems
• Meticulous about meeting the schedule and proactively communicating with internal partners and our external customers
• Action orientation and a “can do” attitude; willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities and training of team members and customers as needed to ensure the team’s success
• Desire to grow professionally, gain technical knowledge and grow within the company
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness and ability to travel 70%-90% of the time
• Creative problem solver who looks for ways to provide good customer service and help identify customer needs and present solutions

Training

• College Degree preferred
• Irrigation Tech License or Full Irrigation License mandatory in state(s) where required
• Associates degree or vocational training preferred
• Professional irrigation or engineering credentials a plus

Experience

• Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
• 5+ years of irrigation experience required
• Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background check
