This role is responsible for managing the processes for tracking inventory shrink and damaged and aging inventory. This Individual expected to develop and maintain inventory cycle count controls, tools for reporting inventory and location records and tolerances, and will act as the warehouse inventory point-of-contact for Corporate Finance and independent auditors. This individual will collaborate with the Supply Chain department to improve broader supply chain processes that impact the distribution center and supply chain accuracy and key performance metrics.


This position directly impacts the organization through the strategic identification & management of Warehouse process improvements and the improvement of Warehouse/Showroom inventory control systems.


In This Role


  • Quantify and report Inventory Shrink in the Warehouse
  • Identify, develop, and implement action plans in support of driving the Company's strategic initiatives
  • Manage the Warehouse inventory audit processes to determine inventory record accuracy
  • Manage the accuracy and reporting of inventory and location records within the Warehouse
  • Provide monthly management reports and analysis for inventory accuracy, aging inventory and an accounting of adjustments related to the Warehouse
  • Develop and implement reporting tools that effectively communicate distribution center inventory metrics to the Organization
  • Review all large inventory adjustments and report findings
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
  • Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) and lead initiatives necessary to disposition materials and drive corrective action as needed
  • Identify and drive interdepartmental communication and process improvements in areas of the business where Inventory Control activities intersect with other departments. Examples include but are not limited to working with Retail, Shipping, Receiving, and IT to resolve potential day to day inventory balance issues

  • Identify if and when full physical inventories are required
  • Plan, organize, manage, and control the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Control department
  • Manage Control processes, policies and reporting surrounding inventory adjustments including but not limited to topics such as who has access to system adjustment functionality, appropriate log use and review, adjustment sign-off procedures, and product movement outside of the four walls of the Warehouse
  • Develop and implement data analysis tools/techniques to effectively determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies
  • Provide weekly reporting to Management related to Damaged and Aging inventory in the Warehouse
  • Develop and manage the process to maintain inventory in, but not limited to, Golden (WMS)
  • Develop, maintain, and manage standard operating procedures (SOP's) related to inventory adjustments, inventory movement, count procedures and other related Inventory Control processes
  • Establish and maintain inventory cycle count controls and tolerances
  • Implement and manage a process of continuous improvement for all Inventory Control processes, the organization and the support systems in order to build Inventory accuracy throughout all locations
  • Define the Inventory Control department's staffing and scheduling requirements


The Ideal Person


  • Knowledge of methods used for the process of analyzing and developing Inventory Control best methods, process documentation, and work instruction documentation
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience
  • APICS CPIM Certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of Inventory Control experience
  • Proficient in the use of basic statistics and other analytical tools
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to drive results
  • Knowledge of methods used to calculate inventory record accuracy
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods and standards
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated competency as a change agent with the ability to manage and lead small teams
  • Multiple location inventory control experience a plus
