International Operations Manager Jobs

Freight Appointments are working with a large freight forwarder to recruit an International Operations Manager at their branch in the Chicago area.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in problem resolution with sales, finance and operations
• FMC rate filing and contract management
• Support your team with files and client communication
• Be the go to contact for the 3 largest accounts
• RFP oversite and bid response
• Manage a team of people who handle the whole shipment process
• Yearly reviews and salary adjustments
• Perform other duties as required
• Ensure company compliance with all regulations
• Work with senior management and participate in executive meetings
• Establish departmental goals and guidelines
• Hiring, leading, coaching and training new employees
• Manage vendor development and relationships, recruit accordingly to develop and maintain relationships

Your profile:

• Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years' experience in the industry, including experience with air and ocean freight forwarding.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• FMC rate filing experience
• Solid understanding of customs clearance procedures and requirements
• Strong operational knowledge of import/export airfreight, ocean freight and geography
