Job Description
Job Title: Interior Design Instructor
ID Conquer is a virtual interior design education company that prepares interior designers for the NCIDQ exams. We see ourselves as a guide and research team that focuses on providing reliable information to students in preparation for the licensing exams. We believe in the power of community to help others and share knowledge. We take the guess work out of preparing for the interior design exams and provide resources, exercises, practice exams and other materials to prepare students of all ages and experiences pass the exams.
What we are not:
- a resource for practice tests
- a faceless organization; we care about our students
- a static, unchanging organization
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Interior Design Instructor to join our team at ID Conquer. As an instructor, you will be responsible for answering student questions, acting as a researcher to provide relevant and accurate information on all aspects of design, including commercial and interior design projects. The successful candidate MUST have their NCIDQ certification and be well-versed in all aspects of design that are tested on the exams. The ideal is a self starter that takes the initiative and supports the long term vision of the organization - helping as many designers as possible conquer the NCIDQ exams the first time.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between students and the founder of ID Conquer to ensure smooth communication and address any concerns or questions
- Research and provide comprehensive answers to student questions related to interior design, including but not limited to space planning, color theory, lighting, material selection, contracts, business administration, project management, and estimating materials.
- While teaching content has already been prepared by ID Conquer, the ideal candidate would be able to add to existing content if needed and be prepared to deliver presentations, webinars, or workshops on design-related topics to students.
- Evaluate student questions and provide relevant responses.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and technology to ensure students receive the most relevant and up-to-date information.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to develop and improve the curriculum and course content.
- Attend regular meetings and training sessions to stay informed about company policies, procedures, and updates.
- Ability to quality control existing content.
- Review published practice questions and provide more elaborate explanations of defined solutions.
- Experience working with BOMA related questions and US Code requirements
Requirements:
- Interest in helping others and a passion for teaching and mentoring.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to think on your feet and admit when you don’t know something but will provide a prompt response after precursory research is complete.
- At least 3 years of experience in the interior design industry, with a strong understanding of commercial and interior design projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong research skills and ability to source accurate and reliable information quickly.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Office Suite and Google Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Mastery of the English language
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- NCIDQ certification

This is an hourly role with a flexible schedule.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work remotely.
If you meet the above requirements and are passionate about sharing your knowledge and helping others succeed, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join our team at ID Conquer as an Interior Design Instructor.
