Job Description

The Interface Analyst is responsible for the installation, configuration, and testing of developed interfaces between Office Practicum and its vendor partners (reference labs, immunization registries, HIEs) in client/server and cloud environments. The Interface Analyst will manage a portfolio of projects and will be expected to provide exceptional customer service. This is a client-facing role.



Essential Functions / Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities:

● Configure, install and test existing unidirectional and bi-directional interfaces for new and established customers.

● Progress, resolve and test Level 2 customer issues as directed for all active production interfaces.

● Partner with Project Management to configure and test the installation of newly developed interfaces.

● Identify and document issues and potential obstacles, and propose resolution to issues which impact successful project completion.

● Review and qualify internal and client-facing interface documentation, and enhance as needed.

● Communicate with customers on resolution of any interface related update, fix or implementation to ensure satisfactory outcome for the client.

● Ensure all configuration, testing and client communications are detailed in the appropriate Salesforce case.

● Provide production transition support for all newly installed interfaces which includes, but not limited to configuration documentation walk throughs, details and resolution of implementation issues as well as detail on any associated tools to support the customer

● Ensure all Salesforce documentation is appropriately qualified, progressed and completed adheres to internal best practices.


Competencies:

● HL7 v2 fluency; message types including but not limited to ADT, SIU, DFT, ORU, VXU, MDM, ORM.

● Thorough understanding of how data contained in HL7 messages relates to OP’s front-end application and database.

● Familiarity with HL7 v3 and IHE standards.

● Familiarity with SQL (SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE statements) and ETL processes.

● Familiarity with Windows Shell Scripting.

● Familiarity with Sumo Logic in order to troubleshoot interfaces

● Ability to create test scenarios using test data in a staging environment.

● Ability to configure and implement SFTP and HTTPS connections.

● Ability to conduct root-cause analysis.

● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

● Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

● Maintain at all times a customer-centric focus on work performed.


Education / Professional Certifications or Licenses Required:

● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or university



Experience Requirements:

● 1-2 years experience installing and testing HL7 interface applications.

● Experience with installation of cloud-based applications.

● Working knowledge of medical office workflow.

● Knowledge of HL7 format specification from v2.3.1 on up.

● Experience with software tools such as Salesforce and Jira.

● Knowledge of Web Services and SFTP.

● Exposure to Practice Management/Electronic Health Records applications.

● Exposure to Project Management and SDLC disciplines.

Work Environment / Physical demands/ Travel Requirements:


Computer and telephone required to perform duties.

Lifting requirements of no more than five pounds.

Presence in the main office is preferred. If located in the field, travel will be expected.



Salary:

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 annually. Salary is determined based on a candidate’s background and skills.
