Battery Cells are the common denominator for every Tesla product. Our product requirements necessitate ground-up cell architectures with state-of-the-art performance, manufactured at volumes that are orders of magnitude higher than the products they power. Drive quantification and development structure around early phase product decisions that span design, process, and manufacturing equipment. This role will work on prototype tools where we prove out production processes and equipment, run design DOE’s, build validation cells for next generation product, and help root cause key issues. The responsibility of integration engineer is to develop a solution that outlines the design concept with a scalable process and equipment concept.
What You’ll Do

• Manage activities for engineering technicians to support day to day coverage of pilot line
• Identify and quantify process risks and trends relating to quality and efficiency
• Establish and standardize baseline process conditions
• Introduce control measures and metrological parameters to maintain process reliability and improvements
• Develop and manage PFMEA risk assessments to prioritize process improvement projects and ensure adequate metrology and controls are in place
• Effectively communicate findings to peers and management
• Understand process capabilities through design of experiment, critical data analysis and in depth understanding of the product metrics

What You’ll Bring

• Familiarity with documentation control systems and 2D/3D CAD (CATIA)
• Experience with installing and commissioning new equipment
• Experience and knowledge of Li ion battery chemistry, cell design and manufacturing processes
• BS degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
• Data collection, Statistical process control, and process capability analysis experience.
• Ability to develop data driven root cause analyses and solutions
• Experience leading teams
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment
• Proficient in GD&T
• Familiarity with analytical software and programming languages (e.g. JMP, Minitab, Matlab, Python etc.).

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
