PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This professional position primarily facilitates new resident admissions, conducts pre-admission screenings, and completes clinical intake assessments. This individual performs functions that the Clinical Operations Director supervises.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. Completes ASAM Level of Care Initial Assessment (LOC), DLA-20 A&D, PCL-5, Columbia Suicide Rating Severity Scale, and all other intake-related clinical documentation as required by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and CARF.
2. Assesses LOC and decide clinical appropriateness for Residential 3.5 services. Suppose a determination is for LOC other than Residential 3.5. In that case, document findings, discuss them with Clinical Operations Director and Medical Director, and make proper referrals to the appropriate LOC (outpatient, crisis stabilization, emergency department, etc.)
3. Assists residents with completing admission paperwork as needed, including the Face Sheets, consents for Release of Information, HIV Screening Forms, and all other intake-related documentation. Ensure that all paperwork is complete.
4. Perform pre-admission screening phone interviews with people seeking services to manage the admission waitlist and DMH Bed Registry and inform the admissions scheduling function.
5. Establishes a working rapport with new patients and answers related questions regarding the facility, the admission process, and treatment services.
6. Lead crisis intervention and make proper referrals to mobile crisis units or emergency services as needed.
7. Demonstrates safety measures that prevent employee/resident accidents.
8. Recommends changes to management that would improve the operations and efficiency of admissions.
9. Participates in in-service and external training programs as are made available and necessary to maintain requisite licensure and/or credentials.
10. Perform such duties as may be assigned by the Clinical Operations Director, Assistant Executive Director and/or Executive Director.
Requirements:Position Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in addiction, mental health-, or human services/behavioral health-related field and (1) a professional license or (2) a DMH credential as a Mental Health Therapist or Addictions Therapist preferred.
2. Employees who self-identify as in recovery must have at least one (1) year of sustained recovery.
3. One year of related work experience in the field of alcohol and drug treatment.
4. Culturally competent in effective communication skills and counseling with residents.
5. CPR Certification (can be obtained during onboarding.)
6. CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Trained (can be obtained during onboarding)
