Intake Coordinator - Medical Transportation

Provides entry level clerical functions in a clinical setting including scheduling of ambulance and wheelchair transportation appointments, registration, coding, and charging for these visits. Works with other HPMT staff to gather necessary documentation to ensure that medical necessity and reasonableness criteria are met. Coordinates any prior-authorization requests and verifies insurance coverage. Assists the Intake Specialist, HPMT Operations Manager, Regions Hospital Patient Accounting, and HealthPartners Integrity and Compliance departments with conducting scheduled regulatory compliance audits. Completes other duties as assigned by the HPMT Operations Manager and may occasionally be asked to fill-in in other roles when appropriately credentialed.

Due to recent expansion of services, HealthPartners Medical Transportation (HPMT) has several new exciting positions available. The Intake Coordinator plays a critical role as part of our Quality Assurance and Pre-Billing/Coding team with a focus on ambulance and medical transportation documentation.

HPMT is open 365 days per year, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position is also eligible for occasion remote work.
