Job Description

Intake Coordinator

Fully Remote

Contract: 4 months, w/possible extension

Hours: 8am-4:30pm *or* 8:30am-5pm (EST)

Pay Rate $21-22/hr

MUST HAVE:

1) Experience in health insurance or provider billing setting

2) Detail oriented, able to prioritize. HIPAA compliant

3) Excellent time management skills

4) Team player; communicates well with team; collaborates well with team


Key Functions/Responsibilities:

 Enters identified baseline triaged case information and subsequent process and documentation status updates into the case tracking system within prescribed time and quality parameters.

 Drafts audit notices as well as requests for records for final approval by SIU Manager.

 Receives and reviews requested case receivables to verify that all required documentation, including, but not limited to, HCFA1500 and/or UB04 claim forms, itemized bills, clinical service documentation, and pharmacy profiles, has been provided.

 Receives, reviews, and distributes correspondence received from external parties.

 Organizes case files for review and routes to the assigned investigator.

 Assists in the tracking and reporting of member eligibility issues, including, but not limited to, analyzing weekly denied claims reports to identify possible members residing out of state for further investigation.

 Monitors case-related due dates, keeping SIU Manager apprised of the status of open requests, per procedure.

 Manages record retention policies and procedures for compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.

 Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with providers and vendors and provides outstanding customer service to them. Identifies and escalates problematic provider, vendor and member issues to SIU management.

 Coordinates SIU meetings, maintaining the meeting minutes.

 Provides administrative support to SIU staff.

 Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

 High School diploma or GED is required.

 Associate’s Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.

 Knowledge in working with third party payors.

 2-4 years of related experience in HealthCare related field.

 Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

 Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT & HCPC coding or equivalent experience.

 The successful candidate will possess strong customer service skills, knowledge of medical

terminology, excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task and prioritize. In addition,

you must have problem solving skills and be highly organized.

self-discipline to adjust to feedback.
