Summary: The Instructional Designer will possess expertise in the creation and development of technical, role-based training programs. This includes the design and development of onboarding programs for new hires, aimed at shortening their ramp time. Additionally, they will have a background in identifying role-based competencies and designing assessments based on these competencies.

The Instructional Designer is part of the Revenue Enablement team. We are looking for a professional Instructional Designer to develop and design learning experiences. The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. Working with a diverse set of learners across the revenue-generating organization, you’ll employ a creative approach to learning technology solutions, including technical role-based skills, sales/servicing skills, payments industry domain knowledge, compliance, technology, and essential process knowledge to help our technical teams more efficiently and to help our servicing teams provide a world-class support experience to our existing merchants. As part of a global team, you will need to be able to think strategically about how to create training by role and region with a strong emphasis on execution excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Collect and analyze program data to evaluate training courses and program effectiveness; identify problem areas and make recommendations for improvements
  • Collaborate with global teams and subject matter experts on course design, development, and delivery
  • Apply project management principles and tools to direct the instructional design process to deliver results on time, on budget, and within scope
  • Utilize sound instructional design methodologies to develop complex (e.g., guided discovery, case method, problem-based, game-based, competency-based approaches), high-quality, and innovative (formal, informal, blended) instructional materials and learning solutions
  • Create and maintain job/task analysis; training needs analysis, design documents, storyboards, video scripts, project plans, and other artifacts for various training projects
  • Select and use appropriate techniques to define and sequence instructional content
  • Design and develop learning solutions utilizing modern learning methods and tools to ensure learning initiatives are constructed to produce the desired changes in behavior, attitude, knowledge, and skills needed to make a real business impact
  • Conduct media analysis to efficiently and effectively match instructional media to the content, the audience, and desired outcomes
  • Determine and implement criteria and approaches to measure the learner’s performance and develop the appropriate instruments ranging from assessments, surveys, and other content as needed
  • Actively research evolving trends in the field of learning and recommend innovative training tools and techniques to deliver cutting-edge design solutions
  • Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, manuals, job aids, quick- reference guides, and other training aids

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven aptitude for creating instructional content for sales, product, strategy, and operations audiences
  • Extensive experience utilizing eLearning development tools such as Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate to deliver learning experiences
  • 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in eLearning course development and instructional design
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, changeable environment
  • Ability to connect the dots in a highly matrixed and complex organization
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Adult Learning, Education, or related field
  • Experience developing interactive learning content with audio/video editing and animation software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, critical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with industry standard design tools such as, Camtasia, Vyond, and, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Business and ROI-minded, performance improvement driven
  • Strong content creator, experienced in crafting various types of training content (assessments, content outlines, storyboards, videos, instructor-led activities, job aids and infographics)
  • Strong project management experience, must be able to self-manage and prioritize projects with little supervision

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult learning, Education, or a related field
  • Experience with learning management and sales enablement platforms
  • Experience working on a global sales enablement team or creating training for a sales and servicing organization, a plus
  • Graphic design experience is a plus
  • Experience managing vendors and/or leading a cross functional team to execute projects
