Description

The Creative Performing Media Arts School has one full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month vacancy.

This position will support the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department's Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) federal grant, “Amplifying the Arts in San Diego Unified School District” at CPMA. This federal grant serves CPMA’s students and community by promoting diversity, increasing enrollment and integrating the arts. The objectives of the grant are to enhance CPMA’s programming and to reverse minority group isolation. This is an up to 2-year funded position.




Examples of Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support classroom teachers through professional development and offer support around innovative instructional practices, including interdisciplinary curriculum design, inquiry-based learning and arts integration.
  • Collaborate with the other CPMA MSAP site-based resource teacher to implement the grant by coordinating conferences, curriculum, materials, professional learning, events, and marketing at CPMA.
  • Support teaching and learning that builds welcoming environments that honor and include all learners, their families, and the community.
  • Become familiar with the goals and operation of magnet schools and/or federal grants.
  • Comply with grant requirements such as documentation, assessments and data collection.
  • Meet regularly with the MSAP Grant Project Manager and MSAP Resource Team to implement grant goals.
  • Work closely with CPMA administration, support staff, and community partners towards building sustainable practices and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have: (1) A valid California multiple subject credential or a single subject credential in music, art, English, or physical education credential, (2) Teachers who have taught in the arts for this position are preferred.

Credential must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date of the application deadline.

Applicants must have a valid California driver's license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
