What You'll Do


HPE OCTO Program Management Office, (PMO), is responsible for the program management and operationalization of all programs focused on our Edge to Cloud as a service portfolio. The PMO works closely with multiple teams on defining and delivering HPE’s transformational strategy to become the Edge to Cloud company, working with customers and partners to develop cloud-like experience wherever our customers and their data need it. This dynamic team works on strategic and cutting edge technology projects, managing resource capabilities, schedules, budgets and ensuring cross company communication to facilitate product or project completion efficiently, on schedule and within budget. As an Innovation Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning, executing, and monitoring the success of multiple programs within the Office of the CTO around strategy and innovation. The position will be responsible for driving and executing the end-to-end innovation strategy. These activities may include software, hardware and services combinations internally developed in support of Greenlake Cloud Platform innovation activities. You will work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams and business units to ensure that program goals, timelines, and budgets are met, while mitigating risks and resolving issues as they arise. Your exceptional communication and leadership skills will enable you to effectively coordinate resources and deliver results.


  • Implement best practices in program management and continuous improvement initiatives; and
  • Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, and KPIs in alignment with the goals of OCTO;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, set expectations, and define project scope;
  • Skillfully execute projects using a prescriptive approach, while also demonstrating the ability to critically assess and choose the most suitable methodology that best aligns with each project's specific goals and objectives;
  • Regularly monitor project progress, identify risks, and take corrective action as needed;
  • Evaluate program outcomes and provide insights for future improvements.
  • Drive the definition of the innovation through R&D and solutions teams;
  • Work in tandem with a technical program manager to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment between project management and technical aspects, optimizing results and maximizing efficiency throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional and cross business unit teams;
  • Oversee and coordinate multiple program and project teams to ensure successful completion of projects on time and within budget;
  • Communicate program status, updates, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management;


What You’ll Need


  • Knowledge of new product introduction and commercialization;
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional programs and projects from inception to completion;
  • Solid understanding of business case development, tools, and best practices;
  • Ability to drive worldwide initiatives and lead global resources.
  • Transformation change management expertise;
  • An understanding of SCRUM and Agile methodologies (or similar experience); and
  • Knowledge of SDLC, cloud architectures and related technologies;
  • Excellent creative, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills;
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • You have a minimum of 10 (ten) years of program or project management experience with a solid understanding of PM methodologies, tools, and best practices relative to enterprise software and/or hardware products / services;
  • You have a history of establishing new relationships and developing joint solutions within an enterprise business;
  • You have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively influence cross functional teams, across multiple organizations, at various levels;


What We’d Prefer You Bring


  • Experience creating methodologies and improvement processes.
  • Agile or SCRUM certification;
  • Design Thinking methodology to understand the needs, desires, and challenges faced by users in order to create better solutions;
  • Market vertical expertise in retail, healthcare and manufacturing;
  • Leading proof-of-concept solutions with a focus on client validation to ensure the proposed solutions meet customer requirements; and
  • MBA or advanced degree in computer science or engineering;
  • An understanding of LEAN to help validate and refine business models, including the use of a Lean Canvas;

If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay.
