Information Technology Business Analyst

Job Summary:

The Information Technology Business Analyst will liaise with development teams, operational staff and project management in this role.The role is to gather and develop technical requirements in a broad context for development purposes and also to follow through on activities to support new features and enhancements. In addition, this role will require preparing and maintaining a detailed project plan and coordination with IT stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The IT Business Analyst’s responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:

·Collaborate with development teams to gather technical requirements, coordinate dependencies, and identify risks and opportunities

·Partner with product owners and development teams to understand technical needs and translate features (tied to issues or other general roadmap items) into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria

·Work with application support and development team to resolve software bugs and escalated issues

·Prepare and distribute release notes, maintenance upgrades, and unexpected outages

·Assist in the maintenance of the internal Wiki, including documentation of system changes and process updates,

Education and/or Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical course of study

·2-3 years of related experience in Information Technology

·2-3 years of experience using Agile methodology (writing user stories, managing scrum calls, prioritizing backlog, etc.)

·Prior experience in media & entertainment industries preferred

·Experience with API frameworks and terminology is preferred (REST, GraphQL)

·SQL experience preferred

·Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracking tools

·Experience with test planning and writing use cases

·Proven analytical and investigative skills

·Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

·Creativity and problem solving in a complex, fast-paced environment

·Detail-orientation and follow through on tasks and work plans

·Ability to work effectively as a member of multiple teams

·Required skill with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
