Job Description

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Provide assistance, guidance and direction to visitors and patients. Ascertain the nature of their business; assist and/or direct visitors and patients to various locations in the hospital when appropriate. Call for an escort when necessary. Receive telegrams, messages, flowers common newspapers and other items; notify appropriate personnel for pick up and/or delivery. Verify that patient has not been discharged. Maintain logs of items received. Maintain files on patient requests for telephone service and/or calls transferred to and from patient rooms maintain directory and files on active and discharge patients their location patient status and other pertinent information according to the established procedure. Respond to inquiries regarding patient condition perform other related duties as required. Maintain established department policies, procedures commas objectives, quality assurance, safety and infection control. Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Attend in service and other required meetings. Attend educational programs as directed. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • 1 year Reception or Customer Service related experience strongly preferred; Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability and to understand and communicate with people of varying cultures and abilities; Must be able to work with the public and maintain poise under difficult, confrontational situations; Filing skills; Good typing and computer skills; Any second language a plus.
  • Work Experience Required
