Responsibilities: The Infection Control Practitioner, under direct supervision of the manager of Infection Prevention and Control, contributes to the provision of high-quality patient care by supporting infection prevention and control practices and compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies. Participates in the identification, prevention and control of infections through application of organizational and consultation skills. Provides data analysis, outcome reports to support the reduction of healthcare associated infections. As a member of the infection prevention and control team, they help to ensure an effective infection control program across all Legacy Health medical centers and clinics. For inpatient and ambulatory patient care departments across the region, they promote continuous quality improvement across the continuum of care through the standardization of infection surveillance, prevention and control activities.
Qualifications: Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or equivalent required; Master’s in nursing, public health, epidemiology, preferred.
Experience:
Three to five years of hospital epidemiology preferred. Minimum of (5) years progressive leadership experience.

Licensure: Current RN license for state of primary assignment required. The other state (Washington, if primary assignment is Oregon) RN license must be obtained within 12 weeks of hire. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within 3 years of hire is preferred.
