Infection Control Assistant Jobs

The Infection Control Assistant supports the Infection Prevention Department staff in developing and implementing the infection control program for the hospital. Duties will be assigned as necessary to help meet the department’s goals. These include but are not limited to performing observations on the hospital floor assessing compliance with hand hygiene, operating room infection control practices and environmental cleaning monitoring. The infection Control Assistant is expected to give direct feedback to healthcare workers when breaches in these practices are observed and has responsibility for entering these data into an electronic database. The assistant, under direction of the Infection Prevention Director , will offer education and in-service to non-clinical staff such as Housekeeping, Dietary, Facilities etc. regarding proper infection control practices. The Infection Control Assistant will assist in infection prevention performance improvement and research projects undertaken within the department and any other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associates degree
LVN
Bachelors in healthcare related field (preferred)
Experience:
1 year of acute care experience
