The Supply Chain Operations practice within Summit Advisory Team supports clients in addressing current operational challenges, while also providing guidance to help them make strategic decisions for the future of their network.

Summit Advisory Team also takes a very data first approach having a data practice and an Analytics-as-a-Service (Elevate) offering that enables omnichannel and supply chain operations teams with insights to run effectively and meet their customer’s increasing expectations. The analytics from the data practice helps enforce data driven decisions and results.

Role Details

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer with experience working in operations of fulfillment and distribution centers. Seeking an Industrial Engineer who is centered around improvements in both process and technology. The candidate should be able to identify, analyze and aid in the implementation of process improvements that will drive increased productivity and increased profitability. This Industrial Engineer role would typically work alongside a broader team engaged with a client within the Supply Chain Operations practice. This individual will work closely with both the client and other Summit Advisory team members, ensuring project objectives and deliverables are being met.

Key Responsibilities

• When appropriate, develop warehouse block plans and or CAD drawings to capture process improvements, facility modernization, or new facility layout recommendations.
• Use data analysis techniques to identify trends and outcomes of recommendations.
• Develop and document process flows, to include improvement strategies, automation tools and potential technology implementations.
• Contribute to the overall project plan and communicate status of assigned tasks to ensure timeline compliance, completion of deliverables and adherence to budgets.
• Conducting assessments of fulfillment and distribution center operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams both internally and with clients.

Your Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role will have a solid background in Industrial Engineering, an understanding of fulfillment and distribution center operations as well as experience in developing and implementing process improvements that drive productivity and profitability.

• Experience using data and analytics to drive results.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering or related field is desired.
• Able to document clear processes both current and recommendations.
• Must enjoy helping customers solve problems.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software is preferred.
• Must have 5+ years of experience working in a relatable field.
• Experience in supply chain, ecommerce, and or omnichannel retail in a B2B or B2C setting is highly desirable.
• A proven record of building relationships with effective communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts internally and to external clients.
