Job Description

General Position Summary:

Works under general supervision. Determines the most effective means for the use of capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people, and other assets to make a product. Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Develops production standards in cooperation with management and shop personnel.
  • Reviews production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information.
  • Designs the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements.
  • Develops and implementing process improvements.
  • Develops and maintaining efficiency/utilization reports/dashboards
  • Designs and implements pull systems while collaborating with stakeholders to improve manufacturing lead times.
  • Designs control systems to minimize costs and production issues.
  • Manages process documentation and preparing production reports.
  • Prepares material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
  • Performs time and motion studies on key products to identify waste elimination opportunities
  • Designs production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Trains staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.
  • Evaluates, analyzes and improves factory/product flow.

DECISION MAKING:

Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Ability to aggregate data and put into a meaningful format, statistics a plus
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools/techniques. (value stream mapping, line balancing, motion mapping etc.)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Office 365(MS Teams, Sharepoint, One Drive, etc.) strong Excel skills, experience with ERP systems.
  • Documentation and organization skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.


Education & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required. 3-5 years of relevant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
