General Position Summary:
Works under general supervision. Determines the most effective means for the use of capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people, and other assets to make a product. Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Develops production standards in cooperation with management and shop personnel.
- Reviews production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information.
- Designs the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements.
- Develops and implementing process improvements.
- Develops and maintaining efficiency/utilization reports/dashboards
- Designs and implements pull systems while collaborating with stakeholders to improve manufacturing lead times.
- Designs control systems to minimize costs and production issues.
- Manages process documentation and preparing production reports.
- Prepares material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
- Performs time and motion studies on key products to identify waste elimination opportunities
- Designs production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Trains staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.
- Evaluates, analyzes and improves factory/product flow.

DECISION MAKING:

Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
CREATIVITY:
Some (20-40%) responsibility for creation, innovation, development, design or problem solving routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Ability to aggregate data and put into a meaningful format, statistics a plus
- Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools/techniques. (value stream mapping, line balancing, motion mapping etc.)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Office 365(MS Teams, Sharepoint, One Drive, etc.) strong Excel skills, experience with ERP systems.
- Documentation and organization skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Education & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required. 3-5 years of relevant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
