Bell Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning is a trusted expert in providing complete indoor air quality and HVAC comfort solutions to businesses in Des Moines and the surrounding areas since 1955. Services include heating and cooling design, installation and replacement, furnace & AC repair, maintenance programs and tune-ups, indoor air quality management and commercial plumbing. We are Central Iowa’s trusted name for existing and new-construction residential and commercial HVAC design, installation, service, maintenance, and repair.
We are currently looking for HVAC Service Technicians (Level 1). The HVAC Service Technician will assist in providing maintenance on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

Responsibilities:
- Inform and educate customers on additional products or services available through company
- Perform filter changes utilizing filter checklist paperwork unassisted
- Inform and educate customers about residential planned maintenance agreements
- Develop customer service skills.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Complete all service-related forms properly
- Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
- Develop skills to perform planned maintenance on residential systems utilizing maintenance checklist with assistance of a Service Technician level 3 or higher
- Operate company vehicle as needed
- Report problems with equipment to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts delivery
- Provide all customers with new / renewal maintenance agreement program information
- Demonstrated ability to program thermostats
- Arrive at jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched
- Other duties as assigned
- Relocate from one jobsite to another jobsite as dispatched during the workday
- Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry out in timely manner
- Ability to work staggered schedule if required
- Demonstrated ability to clean Blowers and Burners
- Inform customer of replacement options following company guidelines
- Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on maintenance visits as directed
- Report to dispatcher when arriving and leaving jobsite
- Develop soldering skills
- Develop basic knowledge of service tools and testing devices
- Demonstrated ability to clean Indoor and Outdoor coils
- Develop basic knowledge of electrical refrigeration principles
Required Qualifications:
- Work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in the service of HVAC equipment in order for advancement
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely
- Insurable driving record
- Demonstrate willingness to invest time in service training seminars and classes
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- EPA certification
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
